William Shakespeare History Plays
The works of William Shakespeare were divided into three categories - comedies, tragedies and histories. History themed Plays brought massive audiences to the theatre. Globe Theatre actors specialised in performing in History plays. These actors not only required acting skills but were also expected to be able to display excellent fencing skills. The acoustics at the Globe Theatre were poor so they needed strong voices and their acting styles required exaggerated gestures.
